Ian is one of my top companions of all time. I like his mix of brain and brawn. It makes me interested in his past that he's able to defeat an Inca warrior, but still prefers to be a scientist. My kind of man.JJ: I subscribe to your list very hard (maybe with some altered priorties ). Except death, because my conciousness is going to be downloaded to the internet. ;D Magnus: ''Nothing at the End of the Lane'' is disturbing. I'm still not sure if I understood it. Paralell universe? I have no idea.

What I found vastly amusing was when I brought this thread up the random ad at the top said "Chesterton Gum Disease". Nom nom nom.
I recently picked up a copy of the old television series in which Ian gets to be Sir Lancelot instead, perhaps it will help make up for some of that missing footage of him in his Crusader's knight outfit.

Oh, that will be interesting to see. I've seen a couple photos from it, but never the whole thing.

I love lan as well! Well he did brother me. When he couldn't adopt aliens and time travel. But that changed. I love how he can fight(I think he toke fighting class in his free time.) And plus. I love how he tried to help his friends. Despite that puts him in danger as well.(It's a good trait to have!) I also ship lan/Barbara I know pretty much everybody else does. But they had something there. Even RTD noticed!(Just watch the end of SJA:death of the Doctor.) I will also love lan and Barbara(Can't have one with the other.) to meet the 11th. I know it's a long call(even more so. With Barbara actress's death ) but it's they are The Doctor's second(or first since Susan's was already traveling with him) companions. Who knows how long it had been. Since the episode Chase. And plus The Doctor had a changed a lot. They hadn't even seen Regeneration. So maybe The Doctor should show them. His TARDIS. Granted she(TARDIS I call her a she. For that's her gender) had change as well. But still it's a Police Box that's bigger in the inside. That speaks enough. Maybe Steven Moffat should write a book.

[quote author=timedalek board=companions thread=846 post=25097 time=1323476220 Maybe Steven Moffat should write a book.[/quote] I'm quite certain that can be arranged... In fact, if you go to wikipedia.org and look up the entry for "Blink" (the first weeping angels appearance) you will find buried near the bottom a link to the BBC entry on the episode, and if I'm not mistaken, a link there to the two page short story that Moffat did that inspired or was the basis for the Blink episode. I think it was called "What I did for my Christmas Break" or Xmas Holidays, or something very similar. This two page entry has artist illustrations to liven up the presentation a little, but you'll see the similarities quite quickly. Also, I'm told that Moffat also wrote the infamous humor parody, "Time and the Fatal Death." And there's a longer story in one of the Doctor Who anthologies who's name I just can't recall right now, that illustrates to what extreme lengths the Doctor (probably Seven by characteristics shown) will go to check out a library book that is on the restricted shelf and will not be checked out. This also is a pretty good insight into how Moffat views him as a major force to be reckoned with... and, that the universe is learning to fear his appearance and name. (Hence, A Good Man Goes to War) But this isn't my story to tell. Others here on DbyA were kind enough to point me to these short and long stories in another thread on Moffat. And I wouldn't want to hijack this thread, so I won't go into detail about them.

No No I mean. Steven Moffat should write a book. About The Doctor meeting lan again. And yeah I read What I did for my Christmas Break and seen curse of the fetal death. Both where great.
