I've read both "The Forgotten" and "The Whispering Gallery" and they both are enjoyable , but I'll admit I enjoyed "The Forgotten" much more. All the crazy and memorable events, all the foreshadowing within the Doctor's incarnations and beyond Series 4, all the familiar faces and outfits, what's not to love about it?! I don't know why people wouldn't enjoy the last issue of "The Forgotten." I think it was the best one, particularly with what happens at the very end. Its fab! So I don't have a clue why fans wouldn't enjoy it. No one I've talked to that has read it has talked bad about it. I personally would love to see "The Forgotten made into a real DW episode, if it were physically possible. ;D

The last episode was fab, though I think I liked the episode with Three in it the best, just for all of the squeeful UNIT continuity references. And then the penultimate chapter was probably second favourite, because the cliffie was amazing.
In the last episode (spoilers):
I was kind of like "whhaa? lol" when Martha!TARDIS turned into Haryy!TARDIS (which looks even odder in print than it does in my head... hairy TARDIS, heh...) moving on. I really, really appreciated that it was Susan who the Doctor wanted to see more than anyone. For a moment I was afraid it was going to be Rose and, much I as I do love Rose (if the occasion for appearance is correct) that would have been a bit of a smack in the face after all of that continuity, and a wee bit out of character as well. But Susan *tear* and it's nice to see the Doctor expressing his feelings for her, finally, even if she isn't real.
Other thoughts:
Do you think that the author blew up Adric for the emotional effect, or because it was a cathartic exercise in Adric bashing? So many people seem to dislike him, I mean, he's not exactly likable, but he's not half so bad as some fans would makes him out to be.
and also: I am now convinced that Handy!Doc is the Valeyard.

And then the penultimate chapter was probably second favourite, because the cliffie was amazing. I knew you'd like that one more, and I can understand why I personally, in terms of the back stories, I enjoyed Nine's story the best, because there's nice foreshadowing and back referencing... also I agree with what some people say: This is when Ten gets his coat from... just look at it!I I really, really appreciated that it was Susan who the Doctor wanted to see more than anyone. I completely agree with what you said. I too feared at first it was Rose. As you, I do enjoy Rose, but I prefered Susan. It made more sense, it fit with continuity, brought back thy most important person in the Doctor's life... and that was the inspiration for the end of FDDO and BUS that I mentioned in my email. Hopefully, now some of what I've written makes more sense. Other thoughts: Do you think that the author blew up Adric for the emotional effect, or because it was a cathartic exercise in Adric bashing? So many people seem to dislike him, I mean, he's not exactly likable, but he's not half so bad as some fans would makes him out to be. and also: I am now convinced that Handy!Doc is the Valeyard. Here's what I think: I don't think it was an Adric bashing moment... I think it was just true to what the Doctor thinks. He blames himself still for Adric's death and in his mind, he believes Adric sacrificed himself in a vain attempt to save the Earth... and he thinks Adric would do it again for the Doctor, because remember the TARDIS Matrix is a reflection of the Doctor's mind, so he (being part Five) would still think this.
I'm one of those that likes Adric as a character, and I wish he'd been allowed to continue on developing as a character, even if he'd left the TARDIS of his own free will and started again on another world.
As for the Valeyard, all I can say is "HA! I told you so!" I mentioned monthes ago about an idea where Handy!Ten is the Valeyard, and you put it down flat, even the story idea. However, I think the brain paraste used the idea or fear in the Doctor's mind to plague him further, so if anything, I think its more of a sub-conscious fear of the Doctor's than an actual fact about Handy!Ten. Personally, I don't think he should be the Valeyard, because A) Rose deserves a happy ending some where in another universe with her Doctor (let the poor girl move on with her life already) and B) The Doctor is pretty dumb if he'd known Handy!Ten would become Valeyard and let him go off with Rose to a more powerful TW, which he could have at his disposal.Well, that's just what I think.

Some months ago eh? I don't remember this conversation but I've a pretty good idea that I was probably in that: Handy doesn't exist lalalalala how could he be the Valeyard if he doesn't exist? lalalalalala state at that time. A state to which I periodically return. lol

Maybe I should have rephrased to say "a few people were disappointed " rather than "a lot." *I saw people complaining that they had such a great cliffhanger, and then ruined it by making the enemy just a random alien parasite. Plus some of them grumping about the art.
I love the Susan thing as well and was going "pleaseletitbesusanpleaseletitbesusan" quite pathetically in my head. I didn't see the Adric thing as bashing either, on the contrary, I thought it was a nice tribute to his character. *

*for the record I didn't think it was Adric-bashing either, but it just sort of put me in the mind of those "bring him back to blow him up" fics you come across every so often.*

There was one episode, I think it was 3, which I didn't think the artist did a very good job compared to the rest. However, since I grew up with a brother who collected comics and shared a few with me, I've just gotten use to comic drawing being variant and sometimes not that outstanding at time, particularly when they change artists within a series or storyline. Also you really can't expect it to be exactly like the actors. After all, it is only an artist's take on a character. What they chose to emphasis (sideburns, a smile, etc) is really up to how they see the character and his or her purpose in the story. As for the episode 5 cliffhanger, I think it was a good surprise twist (I'd have been let down, especially with the hinting of the creature at the end of series 4), just as both classic Who and NuWho have done previously to keep their watchers guessing.
It keeps the reader guessing, like any good writer should if they want to encourage their readers to buy another issue, to turn to the next page, or to continue to the next chapter. I've seen it done in classic Who with having the Doctor or a companion get shot at the end of one episode, only for it to be realised at the beginning of the next that it just missed him, it was only to stun him, or something else similiar.
Also I'm glad I wasn't the only one really hoping it was Susan the Doctor was talking about. That alone made the storyline for me.
