I was curious so I went to IMDB (International Movie Data Base) and looked up what Christopher Eccleston has been filming since Dr. Who.
He has been in a few TV Shows including a show called "Perfect Parents" and "Heroes".
At the moment, he is almost finished filming two new movies, "The Dark is Rising" and "New Orleans, Mon Amour"

If he wasn't so busy perhaps he'd return for a multi Doctor story. I'd like that personally!

Naw, he'd just call them all "stupid apes" and stride off again...

Eccie did out and out confirm that nothing was going to entice him back for the 50th anniversary. Which makes me sad because I want more Nine damnit. I also want to know what the heck happened on set/ with the fans to provoke such a strong reaction.

The funny think is that I had a co-workers who would be talking about these episodes, and while I didn't track the subject matter, I remember him obsessing about Rose (how "hot" he thought she was) and various comments about "get in the church" and Boomtown and other assorted comments. Now, I'm starting to realize he was watching Dr. Who episodes as they came out or shortly thereafter... and that I missed having something in common with him.

I also want to know what the heck happened on set/ with the fans to provoke such a strong reaction. Me too, on all counts. I get the impression that he's just an actor who's very serious about his work and focused on it and found all the fan shenanigans to be not to his liking - which is fair enough - but I get the impression that the real thing that made him want to move on was due to the alleged disagreements he had with some of the production team, and allegedly one member of the production team in particular (not RTD, though). So I think he sees Doctor Who as being just another past role on his CV and not one he ever plans on revisiting - unlike Tennant, I suspect, who you will probably have to beat away from any specials or anniversary programmes with a stick once he's had a few years away from the show! So, if we want Nine in the 50th anniversary story of our imaginations, looks like we're going to have to fall back on Plan B - the kidnapping/blackmail scheme... (Not really, internet watchdogs! Joke! Joke! )
