Hello peoples! Let's start at the very beginning, for it's a very good place to start. My name is "Anastasia", as you could probably read for yourselves in various places. It's a Russian name, and it means "She who will rise again". I think it very time-lady appropriate, don't you? I'm really into fanfic writing. I started this story once where the doctor takes on another time-lady companion, but she steals his TARDIS and goes on her own adventures. A classy feminist, you might say. And it's her that I based my online ego after. I'll gladly post the story if you'd like once I figure things out around here. Anyway... I look forward to meeting you all. Whovian's aren't a bad group at all, so I'm not too worried. Besides, if things get to weird here, I'm armed with jelly babies, and those suckers HURT when hurled at the face. Ta!

Ah yes! Beware the deadly jelly babies!
I'm Clocketpatch, and that name comes from back when I didn't have a watch and used to carry a pink mini-mouse alarm clock around in my pocket... and um, since I've a tendency for malapropisms, the pink pocket alarm clock somehow became my clocketpatch, and thus my online alter-ego gained a name.
Three is my favourite Doctor for reasons fluently described by my siggy. Though, my first Doctor was Nine and I love him to death too (well... I love all of them to death)
Fanfic is awesome win! I'm completely and utterly addicted the the Teaspoon. There's a fanfic thread on here somewhere if you'd like to post your story. It definitely sounds interesting!
On a random note, I have dreams of one day becoming an archaeologist...
Anyways, I hope you enjoy your time on DbyA!

That's awesome! I wanted to be an archaeologist when I was six. ;D I used to wear a straw hat and carry little shovels around in my overalls all the time. Any particular field of archeology? My favorite doctor is... oh probably four. Because he bumbles alot. I like bumbling doctors. Six is also very high on my list. I've always wanted a coat like his to wear around at school. But I like companions more than the doctor, probably. Donna is the closest thing to my ideal companion I've ever seen. (Leela and Romana score high as well.) I didn't know what to think of Donna when I first saw her because she looked confused all the time and whined about wanting to go home... but I absolutely LOVE her now. One question... WHY did you have a mini mouse clock? That's.... kinda scary. Mini mouse is scary. Hell, DISNEY is scary. That whole company is sickeningly evil hiding under a tard-happy mask. I swear.

Welll... I've had that clock since I was born I think. currently it needs new batteries so it's sitting in a drawer instead of in my pocket (also, I finally got a watch). Disney may be evil, but the Lion King is still my favourite movie ever, with the Great Mouse Detective, and The Princess Bride closely following.
I'm really interested in Maya archaeology. Actually, all of the civilizations of Meso-America fascinate me, and the Incas, though they're in the Andes... Actually, I went to Belize this summer to do a Maya field school which was... *sighs* I want to go back there, especially with the cold coming on.
I've got an offer to be staff this summer coming, but I dunno if I can afford to go another summer without properly working (that's the problem with archaeology, awesome fun! itty-bitty paycheque)
Donna is definitely my favourite NuWho companion, and is on the series-as-a-whole shortlist with Ace, Jamie, and Sarah-Jane.

That sounds like so much fun, Clocket! I personally like the cold weather. (I overheat easily. Couldn't live without mah AC.) But a Mayan archeology trip... wow. I'm glad you ca seize opportunities like that. Discover a lost city. Then money won't be an issue ever again. lol. It's more about following your passions. If you stick to what you love, things may be bumpy at first, but they turn out alright.

I lie, really, I'm a December baby from Canada. My Mum says that I was born and it started snowing.
Last winter the huge, giant snow mounds made me sooooo happy.
But... yeah, the jungle agreed with me too.

That's fine! It's nice to know I'm not the only freshmeat on the site. What parts of DW are you into, Merry? (I can call you Merry, right?)

Salutations. I'm Aldebaran, and my name comes from the star. No particular story behind it. I'm just fond of the name. I'm fourvian. Tom Baker is 1,000 shades of awesome! But my runners-up include Ten, Three and Five. I already told you about my companions in the Cbox tonight, so I won't bother. But I think you and I can agree on most of them. I like Irish Music and tea.... and eel sushi. Not necessarily in the same setting. DBA is a really great place and the whovians here are welcoming! I hope you stick with us!

Someone wants to help me but I forgot who. Is it Mengus? I think so. He is great and much smater than me,I better be careful. Adly and I, we joke, a lot. He is great and I like him. JJpor, we had a c-box past. Broke me C-box heart. xD Becareful on what he says. Never the less, he is great guy. Clocket, we live not to far from each other and I want to go to her school. Dalekman. He is a Troll, stay away from him. We out right hate each other. I love giving karma and I encourge you to too. I am Tennant Fan, but I am not 100% open about it.

Of course you may call me Merry! My fave Docs are 4,5,7, and 10 (ish?), though not in any particular order. I think ten gets a bad rap stemming from scary fan-girls and most "nerds" steadfast refusal to like anything that's popular. Companion-wise I like SJS, Donna, Romana (though one better than two) Jo well most of the companions are fun in their own way, though the ones I dislike I dislike strongly (which isn't strong enough really) And there we have it., mostly.

Wow... you guys use the karma system here. Isn't that a bit feudal? I thought people were over that. But maybe it's a different system that you guys use. What's the value of karma here?

It's to make people feel good about them selfs. We hardly ever take away karma.

Hello Anastasia, I'm schrodinger. 5 is my favorite doctor and Romana is my favorite companion. Donna comes in a close second. In third, despite his complaining, is Adric. You remind me of Aldebaran, my brother. I'm not sure why though... Oh well.

Hi there Anastasia - welcome to the boards! I'm jjpor - it's unpronounceable and fairly meaningless as handles go. Nothing as interesting as a pink Minnie Mouse alarm clock. ;D I'm from Liverpool in the United Kingdom. My favourite Doctor is Seven, because I'm weird like that, and my favourite companion is, appropriately enough Ace. Four and Romana follow as close favourites. A lot of people think I hate Five (I think that may be because I once said I hated Five ), but it isn't really true. I did kill him once, though (long story!) UNIT and the Brigadier I think are great. I think the Daleks and the Master are brilliant, the Sontarans kind of amusing, but don't like the Cybermen as much as I want to. My favourite story of all time may be Ghost Light or may be the Curse of Fenric or may be Talons of Weng-Chiang, or may even be City of Death - it just depends what kind of mood I'm in on a given day... Warriors Gate is also very good, if weird. Oh, and don't believe anything Newton tells you about me - she's just embittered after the C-box unpleasantness (I kid, I kid). So, welcome aboard, and have some feudal karma!
