I was reading Colin Baker's wikipedia page and found a series of six videos called "The Stranger" in which an unnamed hero played by Colin Baker and his assistant Miss Brown (played by Nicola Bryant) battle robots and save planets and stuff. There are guest stars like Sophie Aldred, Louise Jameson, and Caroline John. It also has a picture of Colin wearing what looks like a monk's robe:
I've been trying to locate this online and have so far been unsuccessful. I'm thinking it'd be fun to watch the whole thing but barring that even just a clip or two would be great. Can you guys help me look?
lynda-- Strangely enough, I found a tape of one at the local Salvation Army. Someone with quite a nice VHS SF collection divested himself of it all apparently. Anyway, I've seen a couple of these, #1 and a later installment. The later one seemed to have that forced sort of pseudo-adult "toughness" that I think jjpor (and I) complained about. Colin's after some fellow mercenary types (?) or something. #1 took place at a train station with Colin and Nicola having amnesia, I think.
"You know, when you're a kid, they tell you it's all 'Grow up, get a job, get married, get a house, have a kid'... and that's it. The truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker, and so much madder... and so much better."
