"Cabblor of Cabbadon not only proved to be one of the Doctor's most popular companions, but even outlasted Tom Baker himself, who famously claimed that he left the show because "the vegetable gets more fanmail than I do". Sadly, it was not to last forever; John Nathan-Turner's decision to kill Cabblor off in a stunning confrontation with the Cybermen was condemned by many fans as an obvious ratings-grabbing stunt, and was later seen at the first nail in the classic series' coffin as the 80s wore on. Still, few can forget the devastating ending of Earthshock, when the silent closing credits rolled over a poignant shot of a huge pile of coleslaw.
Efforts to recapture the magic of Cabblor with the introduction of Celerio the Talking Celery Stick led to howls of derision from fandom. Celerio was quietly dropped after his first serial, and when he was belatedly brought back in Planet of Fire it was only to be messily eaten by the Master in a scene which drew more complaints from Mary Whitehouse than the Brain of Morbius..."

Except maybe with mayonnaise.

Or, in keeping with DW titling - Muppets of Death. Ok, is anyone else imagining the Muppet-like songs from this story? Especially if the cabbage was in it too? "It's Not Easy Being Evil" "The Cabbage Connection"

...when the silent closing credits rolled over a poignant shot of a huge pile of coleslaw. I was so hoping that you were headed toward cole slaw.... This is where the audible laughs happened! Well done my friend!

"Moisturize me!!!" GAH! No kidding! Personally, I thought he looked more like a stump of overcooked beef jerky, but then again, don't all deteriorating bodies?

Well of course Clocket, cole slaw can only result from the morally-ambiguous utter destruction of jjpor's dramatically immortal cabbage-companion. I hope you can live with that.
