Okay, so here's a second poll for favourite companions. And with the ProBoards update you can vote for as many as you want! I know that was a problem in the last poll. It was hard to pick just one! And if you suddenly decide to dislike the companion you chose, you can go back and retract your vote!
The list is from Wikipedia, I cannot fit any more. I actually had to get rid of Kamelion to fit in UNIT (Wikipedia actually didn't list UNIT, but, come on. It's UNIT!). If you absolutely love Kamelion and think it's a crime that I got rid of him, just specify in a post.
And this isn't for only votes! Post and explain why you like the companion(s) you chose so much. ^^
(Picspam is more than welcome!)

I like how Kamelion basically spent several stories in the closet or someplace, as if he were a vacuum cleaner that wasn't being used.

I love the multi-voting, though me thinks I might have abused it. Though I kind of went: Jamie, Ian, Jo, OMG THERE'S UNIT!, SJ, Harry, Ace, Donna... and Romana, and probably a few others. It was really hard to choose. Now I'm going to go back and vote for Steven because, though I've only seen a five second clip of him, it was a good clip, and I read a nice fic once... and I don't think he'll get any love if I don't. And I voted for Mel because... ear-breaking screams asside, I actually really like her.

I had to vote Donna, because I just love the idea that the Doctor can have a friend, a real friend, who will yell at him. Sarah Jane did a bit but then she went all puppy-love, same with Romana, she was bum-kicking cool, then all soft and eyecandy and "how do I do this Doctor?" Overall, it's hard, I mean I love Jo, I love Ace, I love Sarah Jane, but the best dynamic is definitely Donna and Ten(ish?) Which reminds me, where can I find a thread here about the Valeyard, and the stuff that occurred in Journey's End (I am loathe to say more as spoilers just in case)

You can vote for multiple companions if you want! =D
Amazingly, we do not have a thread about the Valeyard (as far as I can remember). Feel free to start your own! As for Journey's End, it should have its own thread somewhere in the Forward in Time board.

His name was Jamie. ;D Actually, Barbara raked One over the coals pretty well too. Oh fun fun... so many I like here...must give Victoria a vote, just love her, wish there were more of her....and Ian! And even K-9!

Jamie didn't ever yell at the Doctor that I remember; he just yelled at people that threatened the Doctor and clung to him a lot. Tegan's probably the closest to Donna in terms o mouthiness, though somehow Tegan manages to make me hate her while Donna is one of my favorite people ever.

They certainly must have developed Donna a lot, since she was intolerable for me in the one ep I've seen her in, the Christmas spider story.
Tom Baker and Louise Jameson argued in real life, does that count? Onscreen, eventually Four started to develop and exhibit Tom's dislike for Leela's character. Leela didn't retaliate nearly as often as she should have, but she got the odd moment of backmouthing in. We even see some affectionate (I think) quarreling in Invasion of Time, when Four's all over Leela for having gotten lost in the Tardis.
My favorite Leela "comeback", though, is in Fang Rock, where she pseudo-butters Four up by saying he'll easily defeat the Rutan because... "You are a Time Lord!" He grunts and moves on to something else, while Leela smirks and barely contains her near-laughing... he doesn't see, but we do. I missed this the first million times I saw Fang Rock, but suddenly in recent years I spotted it. I love that moment. A companion actually goofed with the Doctor and he never caught on!

You know, Lynda, I never thought of that until just now, but you are right, Tegan is a bit like Donna, but I think with skin a bit thinner, she just couldn't hack it. Mayhap she was too young? Or perhaps the Doctor was too young then? Hmm, I may have to start a thread regarding this as they are similar but Tegan cracked and walked bloodied and bruised into the dark aftermath where Donna helped push down the lever that killed how many thousands?
Magnus, it has been ages since I have seen Fang Rock, but then I have never been much of a Leela fan. The whole idea of the Doctor playing "My Fair Lady" has ALWAYS bothered me greatly. Seems to me it would be too much meddling, even for him, hence I tend to not rewatch those episodes as often as the rest, and blast you! Now I must rewatch them, lol.
((perhaps if we all clap our hands at the same time and ask the fae folk they will grant my wish to be able type!))

Yay for voting for more than one person!! I think I voted for more then enough people, but I would probably vote for more, if i saw them in action. I have to say that I haven't seen much Three, Two, and One, so I don't know their companions so well. I wish I could see them though.

I don't know, but I kind of like Tegan, in spite of everything - she's loudmouthed, sure, but I always found her sort of likeable, really. And as for walking out on Five, well, after the mess that was Resurrection of the Daleks, who can really blame her?
My _favourite_ companions, however, remain Ace, and Romana (both of her).

Oh no! Don't get me wrong, Tegan is one of the ones I voted for, and I certainly don't blame her. Though, upon rereading my last, I can see why you thought that. No, I quite like Tegan, and I don't blame her one bit for breaking. What I wonder is the difference Donna or the Doctor? Meaning would Tegan have broken had she been the companion of a different Doctor? Or was Donna just a stronger woman? Because in many ways Tegan and Donna are very similar.

Tegan rather annoys me. But that might be because my introduction to her was through the fic of Patrice and MouthonLegs on the teaspoon, and the character they painted was so wonderful (and the stories so wonderful. I LOVE the Teaspoon! So much amazing fic!) that when I saw the actual Tegan it was a bit of a let down.
Poor Fivey, all his companions were always dying, or being possessed, or trying to kill him, or having dreadful fake accents, or having funny eyes (sorry Nyssa, that's a terrible reason to judge a person.)

Four never really did play Henry Higgins. That was the original idea, when Leela was set to be introduced in Weng-Chiang, but there's little evidence onscreen of his ever teaching her much of anything.
Leela is definitely my favorite.

My brain is now stuck in this bizarre incarnation track and I find myself wondering if other incarnations would have taken on Leela. I vote Ten would have, poor guy's so lonely he'd have taken a psychopath waving an armed nuclear warhead in one hand and lime green popsicle in the other. Afterall, he was going to take the Master. And nothing wrong with liking Leela, Magnus. Though I may from time to time be forced to tease you and insist it was the skimpy costume and erm, shall we say certain feral qualities that inspired your adoration.
