Trees, the Doctor, trees, the pupils of Coal Hill school, trees, some sort of threat to Earth and its well-being and trees feature in this week's latest episode of the latest series of Nu Who. Oh, and maybe tygers too... And here is your official DbyA discussion post dedicated to considering, cogitating and weighing up said episode. Usual drill; keep all discussion of the latest episode in here and out of other bits of the forum, as well as out of the DW Live chatroom. And be sure to use whatever method you liked best to conceal any SPOILERS contained within your posts. And now, I leave you to your forestry-related entertainments.

Haven't watched it yet, so don't have anything spoiler-y to add but... what's wrong with just calling it The Forest of the Night or even Forest of the Night, eh? What's with all these ''clever'' post-modern titles like Let's Kill Hitler, A Good Man Goes to War and IN the Forest of the Night.* Like, leave that stuff to all those other shows or whatever! But that's just me. *shakes cane* *I know, I know, it's a reference to The Tyger, but it still could've been called (The) Forest of the Night or something.

I'd say Who has its fair share of titles conforming to the "The ____ of (the) ____" template, so I don't see anything wrong with being creative. On a spoilery note, this was a pretty bad episode. And it was obviously written by someone who hadn't taken the previous character arcs and episodes into account. The concept was decent enough, but it seemed to be over before it started. Meanwhile Danny, Clara, and the Doctor behaved as if everything was practically peachy perfect. Danny's 'okayness' with everything is bordering on the ridiculous. All in all, 'Flatline' would have been a much better choice for the pre-finale episode.
