*waves* My name is starpanda. Let's see... I love knitting, juggling, skiing... and, of course, that lovely TV show Doctor Who (you may have heard of it ). I stumbled across your wonderful forum through Teaspoon and just had to join! I started with the new series but after going back I fell head over heels in love with Three. After him, my favorites are probably Five and Eleven. I hope to see you guys around!

We are going to be friends. Yay for Fivey and Eleven! Some parties here are somewhat hostile to Eleven, but there are just as many of us here who support him. You'll find fans of pretty much every Doctor here (though support for Six is always in pretty short supply). Anyway, let me be the first to welcome you to DbyA! Feel free to jump into any of the discussions, the current game of Historical Guest Star vs Historical Guest Star, and the Chat Box where we tend to do our briefer and more random communication.

Yay! New member! Hello! And now that I have completely and totally freaked you out with three exclamation points in a row, I'm Cadet. My favorite Doctor, while we're on the subject, is Seven. I am not one of those hostile to Eleven that Aqua mentioned, but I prefer Classic to New. Somewhat ironic considering I hadn't been born when the show first came on. I'm 14, by the way.
And now you have random facts about me. Welcome to DbyA (I'm the second one to do so!)!

Hello, aquabluejay, Cadet!
I'm more of a Classic series fan myself (hence my undying love for Three), and I'm 15! Out of all the Doctors from the new series, though, I like Eleven the best.
While I'm here, can someone explain to me how to add an avatar and a signature? Thanks!

Welcome, Starpanda! Always great to see more Classic Who fans. My own favourite is Four, followed by One and Seven on a shared second place. To add avatar and signature, just click on ''modify profile'' on your control board.

While I'm here, can someone explain to me how to add an avatar and a signature? Thanks! It's confusing, I know. You need to go to the 'User Control Panel' button at the top of the screen, then go to 'Modify Profile'. To add an avatar from there, the image has to already be posted on the web somewhere. You need to go to that image and right click on it, selecting 'Copy Image Location' and paste that link into the 'Avatar URL' field. You also then need to set the width and height of the avatar, (100X100 usually works best.) For your signature you can put in text, and/or paste in a link the same way.

Thank you! Everything makes a lot more sense now.
Nice to meet you, Maggadin! I love the variety of interests here. I'm sure it makes for great discussions. ;D
And what is this karma that I have somehow acquired?

It's the standard "Exalt/Smite" thing you get on most forum sites. Basically Up Vote/Down Vote for people. Somewhere we have a "Did you Karma Today?" page. If someone does something nice for you or is awesome in general, we tend to Karma them. The buttons have recently been changed to "Regenerate/Exterminate"

Salutations! And may I say your taste in Doctors is....ahem.... precisely right. ;-)
The starpanda is perhaps Hi-Fi?
Three gets lots of love here, as he well deserves, and the all the others do too - over time even Six comes to grow on you, they all have something delightful about them somewhere. One, Two and Three are my faves, with Seven and Four jostling for the next slot and the rest close behind them. Glad to have you with us, the more the merrier!

Welcome, starpanda! As the others have said, I think we're a pretty diverse group of Who fans here, with admirers of just about all of the Doctors and eras knocking around the place. Seven is "my" Doctor, with Four and probably Two jostling for second place, but the overall system of rankings changes every other day for me. ;D And you know, we have our moments like every group of people, but generally we're a pretty easygoing and friendly bunch, I think. So I hope you'll enjoy yourself here and come to treat the place as a home from home.

I don't know how I missed this - look at me, being all rude and not saying hi before. Welcome, starpanda. My favorite Doctors are Eleven, Two, and Four, but as the Brig would say, splendid chap, all of them. If you're around on Saturday evenings, might I invite you to our every-other-week Doctor Who watchalong, DW Live? There's one tomorrow night - the link has all the details.

Greetings Starpanda. I'm Clocket. You'll see me around occasionally. I very much approve of anyone who loves Three and Eleven.
Do you have any tips for juggling? I've tried to learn so many times and I always fail. I can keep two balls up with one hand, but I think that keeping three up with two hands must require some kind of magic. How do you do it?
Also, if you haven't watched the first Doctor episode The Chase yet, you should, because I think that you'll probably be being called Hi-Fi a lot with that username. ;D

It took me about a year to really learn how to juggle, throughout which the balls were alternatively in my hands, on the floor, or being thrown against the wall. I recommend the Klutz juggling book - it explains it pretty well. Other than that... yeah. Just persistence, really. After that it's like riding a bike. My username really should be a reference to Hi-Fi (I haven't seen the Chase, but I know the stuffed panda quote), but it's really just an amalgam of two of my favorite things: space and fluffy animals.

And here I was hoping your username was in homage to your two favorite things: Pandas and Starwhales. You'll find the starwhale usually gets quite a bit of support around here.

the Klutz book is what got me trying in the first place, but after ten years of throwing balls at the wall I think maybe it's just not to be xD
*is very impressed at you*

Welcome! I'm pretty new compared to the people who have been on here for years and years.... I don't like 5 or 9, but from what I've seen they seem to have people who love them and people who hate them.... I quite like Eleven, but my favourite is 4, with 10 in a very close second place.... I also like 3, and 2, and 7. I don't mind 6! I have a friend who dislikes him purely because she loves 4 and she doesn't approve of them having the same surname.... Quite illogical really.... But 5 & 9 are the only ones I don't like

Oh, dear. Perhaps you could try four? That's just two going in each hand. It's actually sort of easier than three and it looks more impressive.

Welcome StarPanda, I see you found us last Saturday. We have a new assignment for you , as a new member here. Right now, there's a movement (running gag?) afoot on Facebook and Google+ that wants every Doctor Who fan to shout out "The Doctor saved us!" Saturday morning, December 22, at 9am. You understand your assignment?
