Yes, noulooktimelord, the latter half of S6 was indeed like watching Days of Our Lives in Space (and I'd totally watch Days of Our Lives in Space. At least it wouldn't pretend to be something it wasn't).
IMO, The problem with both RTD and Moffat is that the the show's discontinuation in '89 left a gap of sixteen years where old fanboys could create their nostalgia-induced revisionist fantasy of the Doctor as a Messianic demi-god (shut up, that's totally a real thing) who really smart and all but really just wants to shag birds (the last one is especially Moffat), rather than the semi-anarchist trickster who isn't the most powerful being in the Universe (though a part of a group of very powerful beings) but uses cleverness to navigate it and sometimes bend it to his will. In other words, I don't like that the Doctor's mere presence basically solves the problem. That's just, like, my opinion, man.
JJ, I wouldn't envy me too much. It's kind of a lonely, futile existence. I'm that muttering freak in the corner who sulks and throws the occasional rock, while everyone else enjoys themselves. Other times, I'm sort of like the Joker of DbyA. Hopefully minus killing people with pencils.
I'm not going to say I'm joking because that will just make the joke less funny.
NOW GIVE ME MY TITLE.

I'm really tempted right now, but I'd hate to abuse my power...

Well, you are a mod. Is there a Mod Consortium that has to discuss it first? ;D

Thanks, cadet. Thought it might be but had a momentary lapse and couldn't remember his name and was too lazy too look it up, so wasn't sure. Yes, give her her title!!! And the muttering freak in the corner is greels picture (no offense, greel), at least if you've read only human (dr. Who book). If you think about it, nuwho had the potential to be a soap opera right from the start, what with all the other time lords dead (apart from brief resurrections).

By sheer, unbelievable coincidence, it turns out that Maggadin had already posted, word-for-word, exactly what I wanted to say... so I'll quote it all here, and claim it as mine too. I'm not asking for a title, though. Muttering, rock-throwing freaks unite! Don't worry, you'll get older. It seems to happen, whether we like it or not. ;-)

Wait! I know I said I'm 18 but that's only because I was taking no risks on the fact that it might be one of those ones where they don't let you do anything unless you're eighteen! I'm actually turning 12 this month (sorry, cadet)

Ah Ha! We have another Young-un over here! Now You get to be the youngest one! Mwah ha ha...
Hmmm, evil laughs seemed appropriate there... but perhaps not.
