Hi. I'm Space Cadet...or just Cadet. Random reason behind nickname: band nickname....pretty self-explanatory.
Anyway, I saw this forum on primsong's profile on Teaspoon, and had heard it mentioned before in profiles, so I decided to check it out. Looked around, decided I liked it, so here I am.
Also, just out of curiousity, does anyone know a good place to watch Classic episodes? Seeing as I'm 13 and was born in 1998, I have seen exactly two. On YouTube. Dragonfire from the reign of Sylvester McCoy, and An Unearthly Child. I think we all know where that one comes from. Anything and everything else I know of Classic Who comes from the TARDIS Index File and/or Wikipedia.
And now I'm just going on and on....stopping now.

Welcome Space Cadet! Glad you decided to join. As for watching old stories...hmm. I know that the site Dailymotion used to have quite a bit, not sure whether they're all still there or not, but it's worth a look. And if you're available on Saturday nights, DbyA has a biweekly watchalong of (mostly) Old Who, DW Live, which is always a lot of fun.

Hey, lookie - I did a Clocketpatch! (our member most infamous for bringing people in via her profile link) My life is complete.
Many welcomes, Cadet - very pleased to have you with us and it definitely sounds like you fit right in here. Goodness, Dragonfire and Unearthly Child? Such very thin gruel to live off of for someone wanting more Classic, I certainly hope you do find some soon. As IMForeman already noted, we do have DW Live here where we watch old eps together and chat on the side, which is a fun way to watch when you don't have a crowd handy in your Real Life.
There's also right now a 'Monster vs. Monster' game going on here, feel free to drop in a vote, up to once a day if you like, even if most are classic monsters it's likely you've at least heard of many of them.
^_^
Edited to add - I see you've already found it! Jolly good.

Thanks for the welcome, both of you. Primsong- good to know I completed your life.
Also, I found Spearhead From Space online today! Yay! I think I have a new favorite Doctor, too, lol. My search for any and all other classic episodes continues, however- though I will check out DW Live that you both mentioned.

Also, I found Spearhead From Space ...Yay! I think I have a new favorite Doctor, too, lol. If you mean you have very intelligently joined us in loving Three, you have very Good Taste. ;-D Of course, you can tell from my icon, I may be slightly biased there.

My daughter Starflower met Clocket at another site entirely, not even Who-related, and was conscripted to join DbyA when Clocket found out she had also been drawn to Three's pure awesome, so you're in good company. There's a lot of us who have an appreciation for gadgets, ruffles and velvet here.
Are you also a writer, then? Quite a lot of those also kicking about this place.

Yes, I am a writer. I have accounts on fictionpress, fanfiction.net, Teaspoon, and a Stargate SG-1 archive. I actually have my Teaspoon account listed as my website on here if you want to look at my DW attempts.

Welcome, Cadet! Hope you enjoy yourself here. Drawn by Primsong, eh? Excellent. It's always heartening to see younger fans wanting to acquaint themselves with the original series. I'm old enough to remember watching 80s Who as a little'un, for which reason McCoy is always going to be "my" Doctor - hope you enjoyed Dragonfire! And an Unearthly Child too - the first two Doctors have a black-and-white awesomeness all their own, although I can't blame you for taking to Three so readily. If you want help finding some of those, er...things IMF was mentioning (all of this political stuff lately has made me nervous of saying certain things "out loud" on the internets ;D), then search for a site called Life, Doctor Who & Combom and see if it still has its list of links up - quite a lot of good stuff there (or was last time I looked a few months back, anyway). Well, I hope your time at DbyA is pleasant. You've already engaged in battle in Monster vs Monster, I see!

Hullo Cadet! I see you've made yourself at home. Very good, very good. And you've been drawn to Three, so you clearly have most excellent taste. I'm very much a Three girl myself, when I'm not been a Five girl, a Four girl, a Nine,Two or Eleven girl... And let's not forget Seven. Seven is awesome and its a shame that Dragonfire is all you've got to go on for him. I'm not going to say that's his worst episode because it has Ace and lots of good moment... but it definitely has the series' dodgiest cliffhanger. Also, heh, Prim, my name is now a verb? AWESOME! Anyway, I hope you continue to have a great time around the boards Cadet. Welcome to the best little Doctor Who fanboard on the Interweb.

Aw, thanks!! Also, Seven is awesome- he was my first Classic Doctor....well, I saw An Unearthly Child first, but I had looked it up after seeing only one episode of NuWho, so I didn't get it or appreciate it till I rewatched it- after I saw Dragonfire. So Seven was my first, really.
Yeah....Oh, and I looked on DailyMotion- you were right, they do have lots of Classic episodes!!! I saw The Happiness Patrol yesterday...weird episode (of course, it is Doctor Who), but I liked it- and have now seen more than one Seventh Doctor episode. I'm searching out episodes from the Doctors I haven't seen next (namely Five, Four, Two, and Six). I don't have any idea where to find Eight stuff...he was the one that was only in one TV movie, right?
Haven't checked out the site you gave me yet, JJ...I'm gonna go do that right now.

Oh god, you watched the Happiness Patrol?! I still have nightmares about that one.
Yeah, poor eight's only on screen for the movie. However, there's an extensive line of books, audiobooks, and audio plays chronicling his adventures which distort, contradict themselves and all other cannon six ways to Sunday, but some of them are very cool!

That may be related to your desensitized state at one in the morning.... We streamed it around here over the summer and all kept running commentary on it and it just made it that much more disturbing for me. The Candyman. *shudders* And the skunk wigs *shuders shudders*
