OK, thought this was just a one-show adventure, and discovered it's a big-budget mid-season show. Easily, this has the best special effects and biggest budget so far.
Really like Rose's developing relationship with the new 10th doctor. Works much better than "big ears, big nose" 9th...IMHO.
Don't think most people would have missed the writing on the wall, or on his face, or the fact that some people were acting oddly.... or that the ood were not sharing everything, or that they had a serious risk of going astray if tunneling down to the center of the power source.
Guess it was just a bit too obvious to me... Also, why didn't the gal just close the damn view portal hatch before trying to run for door #40 or 41? Seems that would have been the most logical thing. Why didn't she get on the intercom again when she sees Toby at risk outside the habitat? Red flag, duh!

Don't get me wrong, this is my favorite one so far in a long time. (Still looking forward to River Song's appearance sometime in the near 10th doctor's future...)

I'm going to try and pour some logic into these wacky moulds you've set up, sir! (Try being the operative word ... ;D)
- The writing was noticed by everyone on the crew, it's just that they were used to its presence by now as Toby was attempting to translate it. The face writing was new, admittedly, though iirc, not many people witnessed that bit until it was far too late ...
- re: not getting on the comms, I'm going to suggest that be scribbled under "human error." To be honest, I don't know if I'd be too clear-headed if the same were to happen to me, especially taking into account the stress levels one may be prone to while living in, well. Hell, essentially.
The thing that bothered me about this episode wasn't (for once) an amalgam of nitpicky bits, but rather the whole concept. Sci-fi and religion are bound to crash into each other in various ways at various times - more often than not, it ends messily, and what would otherwise be a beautiful plot is too often reduced to tatters by incomplete research and the lack of a careful, tasteful aim. (In the DW universe, we've had ... well, we've had crown-of-thorns-and-white-robe-Doctor, we've had glowy Jesus Doctor, and we've had entire universes dreamed up in less than a fortnight. It's been less hit-and-miss and more ... miss.)
That wasn't the case here, but it didn't really reach the realm of probability for me. I guess that's born totally out of cynicism (you know, "out of all the people in the Universe for the embodiment of evil to meet, it would be the Doctor, wouldn't it?"), but one would imagine this particular monster to be ... well, not so easily beat, eh?
In that very same way, though, I think it's practically begging for a sequel. You know. Doctor and Rose beat Satan (or whatever), Satan is like, "oh no you didn't," travels through time and space and ends up on Earth in a snake's body, mucking it all up for humanity from the go.
I think I pay these things far too much attention, mind ...

As river song says "Spoilers....doctor...."
I haven't seen the end of the two part adventure yet. Just the first part to the big cliffhanger...but the drift of where it's going is pretty clear.
It's funny, cause I remember a former coworker discussing the plots with others in the building, and only catching snatches of conversation...which are slowly coming into place as I watch the season/series. But i don't recall them until after each episode ends.
Wish that guy was still around to talk to.
I can't wait to get up to the Library where River Song first/last appears... (Somebody's been talking....)
