Yeah. I think it could turn out really awful pretty easily, but if someone could do it right and actually put some effort into it, it could be pretty interesting. Heck, I'd listen to that Audio. Though I'd prefer if the Cybermen were Mondasian. I could live with Rainbow Daleks, though, as long as I can't see them. = ) But yeah, the Daleks would need a massive reprogramming to even sort of let this idea work. The Cybermen too, for that matter.
Oh, I will! = ) No worries there. I love Aaronovitch. Andrew Cartmel's one of my favorite members of the Who Crew, but I like Aaronovitch a lot too. I'll also thank him for 'Remembrance of the Daleks.' That's one of the great classics.

I suppose the way it'd work out though would be that the Alliance was only functioning for as long as it did because the Daleks and/or the Cybermen were cunningly biding their time, preparing for the betrayal of all betrayals...
And Remembrance is great, one of my very favourites of them all - quite possibly the actual favourite if you pushed me to name one.

Yeah, I'm sure that's the only way it would work for any extended period of time. But I'd still love to see someone attempt an actually operational and good Alliance. Cracky though it may be. = )
Yeah, I really do love that episode. I think, Dalek-story wise, I like Genesis and Revelation more, and Seven-Wise, Happiness Patrol is my favorite, but Remembrance is way up there. I think it's my third favorite of Seven's run, after Happiness and Survival. It was just written so well and The Doc and Ace were awesome in it. Especially Ace. I mean, she destroyed a Dalek with a bat! And a Rocket Launcher. = )

I wouldn't disagree with any of your picks there. I think the thing about Remembrance (as I keep banging on about on this forum) is that I have really vivid memories of seeing it on TV when it aired (I was about ten or eleven at the time, I think - yes, I'm that old! ;D) - it has a lot of sentimental value for me. Mind you, the same is true of most of Seven - it's why he's undoubtedly "my" Doctor... ;D

Argh. Would you stop mentioning your glorious luck, JJ!!!! You make the rest of us poor saps so awfully jealous! ;D
But more to the point, I can see what you mean. What you watch first and which ones have the most vivid effect on your memory can really affect your decisions on things like this. I had quite the oppoisite effect due to that. When I first saw Doctor Who I was very young and it was an episode of Tom Baker. At the time, I thought it was ridiculously stupid and didn't like it at all (blasphemy!) and actually changed the channel. I never had any interest in Doctor Who again until I was, oh, thirteen or fourteen and say a few episode of Seven. Then there was another huge gap until the new series came out. Upon reflection, I've realized that it was, in fact, 'The Horns of Nimon' that I saw. = )
I should state that I know love Nimon for it's beloved campiness. But at the time, I thought it was very annoying and bad. I didn't realize that was what made it so awesome. ;D

Well, everyone's different and everyone seems to have a different story of how they came to Who - this is only right and proper. I think there are definitely some stories it's best to watch once you're already acclimatised to oldWho and have more of an idea what to expect from it...

Who's such a mixed bag, I think it definitely does depend where you start -
I pity the people who's first eppy was Voyage of the Damned (but then, I've met someone on LJ who that was just the case and she LOVES that episode, believe it or not)
I'm relatively certain I saw part three of Pyramids of Mars when I was five or so... (this could be one of those made-up memories) I remember being intrigued, but I didn't understand enough about channels or scheduling or even how to work the remote to catch the next episode. Fast-forward to 2005 and I caught up with NuWho just as Nine was comign on stage and loved it to bits.
However... I probably wouldn't have watched it if I couldn't have started with Rose. i like starting at the beginning of things. So it's probably for the best that I didn't know about Classic when I started LOL
