I've heard that he was having health problems because of the shooting schedule. Breaking out in crazy rashes or something. Yeah... As someone who gets eczema I can see how that would be No Fun. I've also heard stories about him being nice to random fans. So... *shrugs* I would say 90% of the time, they flim at night. Crazy stuff really. I guess we will never truely know why CE left.

I think some people make Eccleston out to be kind of a prick because when he's working he's described as very serious. I think some people want silly fun and goofy but he's not, from what I hear. Some interviews of DW cast members that I've heard since becoming a fan have put Eccleston in a bad light because Tennant is more fun on set. :/ But anyway!!!!

Gads but he is smexy in that trailer. I just wanted him to talk, and talk, and talk...
I've devised most of my random opinions on him based on two stories I've randomly heard (and since forgot where I heard exactly):
1. He was on set with some foreign rare book that he'd just ordered and was going to read between takes, Billy bumped into him and accidentally spilled said book into mud which ruined it. Billy was then afraid he was about to tear a strip off her because, book, and instead he was all like 'happens' *shrug*
2. Random fangirl standing in line at some award thing meant really for some other popular actor sees CE in line, CE sees her, he is all "Well the people you're waiting for should be out shortly" she is all: "I'm not here for /them/ I'm here on the vague chance I might see /you/" CE: *confused* what? what? says: "Fantastic!" and gives autograph
--
from these two stories I've decided that he's a serious professional sort who is also a basically decent human being and may have self-esteem issues. Yes, I know I'm over-analysing a person I've never met.
Yes, I know this is creepy.

I'm just popping in to say that CE is extremely attractive in those pictures.

Ooh, reading that back, it sounds like I was having a go at Eccles, and I really wasn't, honest; it's a genuine question, really. If I was an actor, I'd rather be the Doctor than "that English baddie fella about to get killed by Our Heroes", but that's just me.
There's nothing wrong with being serious and professional about your work instead of kidding about all the time. From what I've seen of him in interviews etc. he seems a nice enough fella, very thoughtful and committed when it comes to his chosen profession, maybe a bit shy when it comes to all of the non-acting stuff he has to do as part of being "a celebrity". And he's a great actor; has been for years; if you haven't seen a film he's in called Let Him Have It, please do; it's heartbreaking. SPOILER It's about a famous British case from the 1960s, where this mentally disabled man called Derek Bentley got convicted of murder on very dubious grounds, and ended up getting executed for it. Eccleston plays Bentley, and he's amazing in the role.
I guess it's a bit like Robert Carlyle, another actor who I really admire but who seems to do a lot of parts lately that are a bit beneath him, if I'm honest. If that's where the money is, though, you can't blame either of them; they are acting for a living, and it isn't an occupation with much job security or longterm stability.

I own that movie. I saw it at the used clothing store and bought it for 2$ because, Eccleston, and I didn't know what it was about, and then I proceeded to bawl my eyes out, and I haven't been able to watch it since because he did such a good job that it actually hurt to watch. He does a lot of villain roles though, when you look at his career. Maybe he honest does like playing the bad guy? In any case, he's an awesome actor and I'm glad he was the Doctor, even if it was just for a year: Nine will always been mine.

I want to watch that movie that jjpor is talking about. I remember in one class we talked about that case.
I was talking about the Othello that CE was in to my teachers today, they want to see it. I had keep myself from fangirling though.
I like the idea of CE being shy. I am shy and well if i acted, i wouldn't be doing red carpets and only some interviews.

*whistles innocently*
I in no way shape or form subtly brainwash the forum into loving my current Doctor o' choice. No way. No how.

I want to watch that movie that jjpor is talking about. I remember in one class we talked about that case. It is really good, and my reaction when I saw it was something like Clocket's, except of course, being a manly man I didn't cry. I just...got things stuck in my eye a couple of times...well, a few times...well, for most of the second half of the film...er... ;D

The question was "what do you think of guys who cry?" Most girls digged a guy who cries... unless he are crying over everything. So cry all you want JJpor, cry all you want.

I don't seem to be able to think of a way to phrase the following tonight that doesn't sound disrespectful. Sorry. It's not meant that way.
One of those relatively meaningless questions. Human beings cry when enormous hardship happens, whatever the gender. Next subject please.
