This thread serves a two-fold purpose: 1. it is a Nine topic, seriously, Nine is lacking the love on this forum. *sad* and 2. it gives me a place to announce the awesome discovery that Rob Shearman has a live journal, and also that he's apparently a really nice guy. The following is a review someone else did on Dalek, which he replied to, making the day of everyone involved. I mean, gosh, I know I'd be reduced to a sputtering ball of fan-goo if one of the writers decided to converse with me!

He comments on the script, on the "deleted" hug scene, the way the show is made, and other random bits, but The Best part of the above is when he reveals that Julie Gardner specifically requested shirtless!Nine. That made my night and put a huge grin on my face.
I have to stop saying bad things about certain episodes and their writers (though I've never, to my knowledge, said anything bad about Rob Shearman's writing) because writing is hard, and tv scripts have a weird tendency to morph and change during production. Also, all of the writers seem to be decent people (with the possible exception of Moffat, but Shearman indicates otherwise and his eppies are *mostly* flipping fantastic --with the possible exception of a certain library two-parter -- so, meh. I'll bow to the better knowledge of those people who actually know the man, and anyway, the way this fandom cycles, people always seem to be coming up with crap about whoever is/will be in charge).
Where did that come from? ^ Well, aside from my general guilt lol, one of the revelations was that at least the preliminaries, for the Toclafane plot had been discussed when Dalek was being written, which means that, even if IMH certain things happening in s3 seem a little... erm, hastily constructed? at least the framework had been laid well in advance. Granted, the way it's said the Ts seem to have just been a last minute stand-in for the Daleks that got themselves reused later on, but still...
Anyway, back to topic. The real topic. Nine. And the episode Dalek. It's one of my favourite episodes. It's the episode that turned me from a casual DW watcher to an out and out rabid fangirl. And yes, it has shirtless!Nine.
What's not to love?
