I found this great pic - dunno if you've seen it before (you probably have) - love the look on Sylv's face!

It looks to me as if Seven is thinking what might well have gone through the real McCoy's head when he saw the scripts for Season 24:
"What the hell have I gotten myself into??!!"

i'll have you know that Paradise Towers is one of my all time favourite Who episodes.
But yeah, the rest of that season is pretty crap.

Yeah, I quite like Paradise Towers - I even have a soft spot for Dragonfire, but only cos it's got Ace and Glitz in it - did I mention that I love Glitz? In fact, if I'm honest, the only Season 24 story I can find nothing good to say about is "Time and the Rani", although I like the idea that the Tetraps literally have eyes in the back of their heads...

This picture makes me glad I never had to endure the fashions of the 80s.

This picture makes me glad I never had to endure the fashions of the 80s. Yeah...Mel had an, er, interesting dress-sense, didn't she? Mind you, when Ace took over things didn't get any better really. In fact, Seven was regularly the most normally-dressed participant in his stories, which can't be right.

she also has that scary rubber suit thing that she's wearing on your other picspam thread, though, to be fair I don't think she wore that in an actual episode.

I liked how she looked in Ghost Light and Battlefield, though. And... you're saying "normally-dressed" is a good thing? I'm very disappointed.

Agreed, but then, putting clothes together has never been my strong point way I figure it people should just be happy I bothered putting pantts on

That comes from the audio series with Ace, Benny and Seven, where something in the Earth timeline has been screwed up, making Ace an alternative Ace whose a hardcore gun-totting soldier. Here's one of the CD cover images:

And... you're saying "normally-dressed" is a good thing? I'm very disappointed. The last thing I want is to be a disappointment to you, Magnus... I feel like I've rather let you down... ;D Yeah, I was a bit harsh regarding Ace there, which is unfortunate considering she's probably my favourite companion. Now, Mel on the other hand... (And I'm the very last person to comment on "normality"; believe me) I'd have to agree with Clocket that the shades/rubber suit/enormous gun look is quite scary, though...

The difference between Mel and Ace is that Mel was very fashionable and with-the-times, which unfortunately makes her look rather ridiculous 20 years later. Ace was more of an individualist. She'd wear something because she liked it; if it just happened to be fashionable that was a bonus, but definitely not a requirement. Which is why we wore that bomber jacket all over the place. And in Ghost Light didn't she wear the dress for a while and then say enough is enough and go and put on some men's clothes?

I'll admit to owning two leather eighties bombers jackets. Alas, neither have the awesome patches and badges, though both ARE hidiously scuffed, scratched, and, well, hidious. One is brown. One is blue and has weird velvet patches across the chest. The zipper is broken on the blue one. Both are far too large. Friendships have been lost over my stuborn refusal to stop wearing these coats. I know how ugly they are. I love them anyway. And I kind of enjoy the double-takes I get for wearing them I've also got a nice boa-like white scarf that I like to wear with the jackets... and bright green tenis shoes... or blue flip-flops... or hand-embroidered wrap-around pants from Guatemala... lol, I'd make Mel proud

We don't all have to go with current fashions, you know. I never did. Enduring the 80s was a big job, let me tell you. I forget what I did exactly, I think I may have hidden under the bed through the whole thing.
