For those who've seen the Daleks in the classic series and the new series, I curious how you think they compare. In your opinion, have they changed? What has stayed the same?
Do you think we've seen the end of the Daleks? Do you think Caan will be the last? What are your hopes for the Doctor arch enemy?

I rather miss the wobbly Daleks... But New!Daleks are pretty cool. Daleks will always come back... It's a Law of Doctor Who.

I rather miss the wobbly Daleks... But New!Daleks are pretty cool. Daleks will always come back... It's a Law of Doctor Who. I'd like them to return, but I'm curious how that could happen? Especially since they've set them up to be dying species in this universe. We have one Time Lord and one Dalek in this universe. No others remain... well as far as we know. And Caan was one of the Daleks that seemed particularly opposed to mixing Dalek DNA with other types, particularly human. So I have a hard time imagining how or if he'll want to try to use other species' DNA to make new Daleks. It would be, as the Emperor Dalek said, Blasphemy!

They're Daleks! They'll always figure out how to bring them back... and once they run ut of budge for the CGI we'll probably see a return of the wibbly Daleks.
Hopefully.
That is if they don't decide to cancel...

They'll prolly start cloning themselves or something. And the Master will come back. It's another Law of Doctor Who.

Yeah, how many times has the Master died by this point?
His gone from old age, been burned in a volcano, eatten by the Eye of Harmony TWICE, zapped by a Dalek execution beam (in one of the strangest plot holes of the movie, I mean seriously, since when have the Daleks had trials???), and just now he'sbeen shot/burned to bits.
But he's come back from the ashes before (literally)
Though I might thump my head against the TV if that CGI snake incarnation rears its ugly had again.

and 'cause that was totally off-topic: search, locate, EXTERMINATE!!!

THE DALEKS WILL RETURN!!!!!!
They always do! You can't get rid of the Daleks without getting rid of the Doctor. The Daleks have been defeated countless time by just about every Doctor. Some multiple times. No, the Daleks will come back. Caan has tricks up his sleeves. Don't think he doesn't. Something else ye of little faith also forget: the Daleks can time travel. Imperfectly, yes, but they can nonetheless. Even if you killed them all off now, there's nothing to say that a Dalek from around the Dalek Civil War era couldn't return...to the future. That made sense.
Anywho, there are lots of differences. There was a 2005 Dalek Redesign. Things change when Redesigned.

I must agree with Clifford's rather excited speech (I guess you could call it that). They'll never kill off the daleks.

Everyone expects the Daleks. When you say Doctor Who to my dad, 9 out of 10 times, he'll start his Dalek impression. The Doctor needs the Daleks.

Yes, but not in every single series. Maybe twice per Doctor, depending on how long the Doctor stays.

There won't always be there of course. Too much of a good thing and all that. But we've far from seen the last of them.

I thought so too, but then I remembered that they were going to put Davros on trial in "Revelation of...".
Daleks every three or four years, that's enough for me.

Well, they've showed up only once or twice a series. And its hard to see relative comparsion between the old and new series on appearances since the old shows were cut into 30 minute blocks and the new are an hour block. So perhaps they are equal... it's just difficult to tell Yes, but not in every single series. Maybe twice per Doctor, depending on how long the Doctor stays.

They'll be back... or at least Caan will. I mean, the Doctor is a living example of this, being the last time lord and all.
'Course... the show would be kinda pointless if there was no Doctor. I mean, what would they call it? Just "Who"? Doesn't sound that appealing to me.

Another thing. I've been watching the Daleks' physical movements lately... and if the Doctor DID want to finish them off for good... wouldn't all he have to do is tip it over? I mean... they'd seem kinda helpless if they ended up on their backs somehow, don't you think? Like a poor june bug or something.

Of course the Daleks will come back. It's come to the point where without the Daleks there cannot be Doctor Who. They might hibernate, but they will not disappear.

I think they have one of those ship-thingys in the void, like in the "ghosts" episodes. That was actually the first episode I ever saw.
But yea, they would be very easy to tip over.
