I suspect there might be some considerable overlap between the constituencies of Who fans and Trekkers. I know I for one am saddened more than I might have expected to hear this afternoon that Leonard Nimoy, Star Trek's Mr Spock amongst more things than you might realise, has passed away at the age of 83: www.theguardian.com/culture/2015/feb/27/leonard-nimoy-mr-spock-star-trek-dies-ages-83I have a sudden urge to re-watch The Wrath of Khan and probably "get something in my eye" at the ending. Again.

Very sad news indeed. He's such an embedded part of popular consciousness, that it's almost strange to think of a world without him.

This was very sad news indeed. He created (arguably) the most interesting character from Star Trek: The Original Series, which was my first love before Doctor Who. He was a good director too!
