I feel as if I am in some kind of related alternate universe from most of the fandom at the moment, as everyone is running about, flailing in whited out text about dinosaurs and cowboys and I just finally watched the entirety of The Pirate Planet. Heh. ;D OVER THE TOP MELODRAMA! The horror of the robotic, murderous, uber-fake parrot! More techno-babble than you can shake a stick at! Calufrax being squished into a tiny, dirty snowball! Lots of shouting and running about and tromping along through sheep pastures, caves and cheap sets! Jelly babies and licorice all-sorts! And did I mention the over the top melodrama? I love Romana I, she was such a great balance with Four, and I love that they gave Douglas Adams a typewriter and let him write something for them, even if it apparently wasn't much like his original idea by the time they were done with it, it was still a fine romp. Do it at once, Mr. Fibuli, do you hear me? Or by the left frontal lobe of the great sky spirit you'll pay! Arrrrr!

Well, Prim, I guess that makes two of us in the not-flailing-about-cowboys-and- dinosaurs. I'm glad to see somebody else who'd rather watch The Pirate Planet ;D
I love Romana I (but I dislike it when people compare Romana II unfavourably to her because she's blond and likes to be silly from time to time).
BY THE GREAT PARROT OF HADES, YOU SHALL PAY WITH THE LAST *DROP* OF YOUR BLOOD. *EVERY CORPUSCLE*, DO YOU HEAR?
ETA: I love it when K9 rolls in accompanied by TRIUMPHANT MUSIC OF VICTORY, carrying the robot parrot. ;D

The robotic parrot was quite the prop, wasn't it? I liked how they couldn't even come up with a way to show it inflicting any kind of damage (unless the Captain had perhaps chucked it at someone's head... *KLONG!*) - so it would just have a fake liftoff from his shoulder then there was the off-screen scream of the victim followed by them laying on the floor balancing the parrot prop on their side, haha!
I rather liked the gallery of shrunken planets too, I was surprised they missed the opportunity to have an empty one prominently labeled "EARTH" while they were at it. X-D
Another Golden Age of Prosperity coming your way! Following the Golden Age of Prosperity we all enjoyed just after breakfast and before the Golden Age of Prosperity we'll have after tea.

A really good one, and while the enjoyable absurdity comes very close to undermining one's belief in the story, it never does. That's something '70s Who was very good at. Unfortunately, PP had a bigger and more interesting part for Romana One originally, and she's not just an assistant for the whole thing, but for much of it.
