Hi everybody out there on DbyA. Where did u get that name anyway? I chose my name because I love when people say to the doctor "but you look human!" and he goes "no, you look time lord. We came first." I found you because I'm on teaspoon and one day I found your "Ten, naked, covered in cake, chained to Three" sub-genre on there and someone mentioned you in their summary and I searched you and here I am!

Welcome to the DbyA! Where we strive to be random, friendly, and off-topic.
Your name originally took me off guard since there is an eyeglasses chain in my area named NuLook EyeWear... giving me an odd mental image of a pair of glasses made out of a Time Lord.
You came for the cake? *shifty eyes* Always interesting when the DbyA bakes a cake... often ends up with a bit of Doctor in it... and don't get me started on making the batter ever since we started out-sourcing our eggs to the Time Chickens...
What was I saying about topics and not staying on them?
Hello, I am Clocket, your friendly sometimes moderator. I enjoy all of the Doctors and have a particular fondness for most of them. Three, Seven, Nine, and Eleven usually claw their way to the top of the pile, but I've been reading the Eighth Doctor Adventure books lately so Mr. Floffy hair has been steadily going up in the rankings.
As you may have already discovered by trawling the back posts, we owe our name to obscure fanon and an oft mis-remembered line from the John Pertwee serial "The Mind of Evil"
You change from human as you make posts. The more posts you make the higher you rise.
You're already posting around and exploring old threads which is great! I hope you have a good time on the forum.

Karma is a weird thing that apparently happens on a lot of this type of board. If you click the little "Exhalt" button under it, you give them +1 to their Karma. I can only assume that if you hit "Smite" it does the opposite, but I haven't ever felt the need. Basically it's a nice little gesture if someone's been nice to you or done something cool, or generally whatever. Not a huge deal but an interesting wrinkle. Your rank is directly dependent on the number of posts you have made, which you can also see on the sidebar over there with Karma. (Oh thank god for Firefox, because I tried to scroll up and see if you'd asked anymore questions, and accidentally closed my browser, and I really didn't feel like typing that all out again. Nothing is ever quite as good the second time through. ) Out of general curiosity, what 'side of the pond' are you on, as they say? My dad, Kirk, my brother Viron, who is on occasionally, and myself are all in the good old USA, but I think we've got a fair number of people from both sides of the Atlantic around here right now.

I don't particularly like nine (because I find him a bit gloomy) or five (just because I find him irritating) but I like the rest of them. By the way, the reason for all the double posts is that I keep pressing post reply then realizing there was something else I wanted to say!

Your name confused me because it is very close to the name of a chain of eyeglass stores in my region. I got it eventually, but initially it made me do a double-take and gave me a funny mental image.
Australia eh? From what part of that large red continent do you hail? And do you enjoy being an ambassador to the future? (your timezones are brutal)
I give you sympathy on the release schedule, but not too much because my own country has been known to take month long hiatuses with the airings... and put these hiatuses between two parters. It's one thing when Moff does these things intentionally, but when the TV stations decide that Frosty the Snowman takes time slot priority... Needless to say I haven't watched out a full series on the television in a very long time.
(Really though, do use you instead of u or else I will be sorely tempted to start editing your posts, and I try to make a habit of not doing that.)

Am pleased and relieved to see another Four-fan! Nearly everyone here seems to hate him, these days.

By the way, the reason for all the double posts is that I keep pressing post reply then realizing there was something else I wanted to say! Awww, I think Fivey is adorable, and Nine will always be my first doctor so I'm rather fond of him! I also like Ten and Eleven a great deal and like Clocket, I have an ever growing adoration for Eight. You know, you can click the handy little edit button at the upper right corner of your post and add stuff to it. Oooohhhh, Australia! Umm... My name's not Time Cat... XD

Welcome, noulook! Hope you enjoy yourself here. Clocket or somebody should put that on the banner - "Death by Aspirin - come for the cake, stay for the Thingy vs Thingy!" Maybe not those exact words, come to think of it... ;D I like Four! Do people really not like him these days? What a strange and benighted age we live in if that is indeed the case... I like Seven the best, though.

Hello, new person! I'm not the newest on here anymore, yay!
Anyway, I'm Cadet, and welcome, noulooktimelord....we need a nickname there....
And I'm sorry to say that I have yet to see any Four. As for my favorite Doctor, I'm with JJ on this one, definitely Seven. Three's a pretty close second, though. After that, it's kind of....uncertain, because I love them all. The ones I've seen, at least...and like Aqua, Nine was my very first Doctor, so I've got a soft spot for him as well.

Perhaps we can call her... Wait no nevermind what I was going to type... How about "Looky"? Perhaps NLT?

Indeed, JJ! Haven't you noticed how people always kill him first in Doctor vs Doctor these days? Anyway, I think it's the hipster sort of trend these days. Everything has to 'ironic' and Dark and Edgy (even though it's really not). Anyway, my Doctor list basically goes: 1. Four 2. One 3. Seven 4. Two 5. Five 6. Six 7. The rest

My name is that of my favorite ranting DW villain. Four is definitely my favorite, with Three my second big favorite. I guess Five is third, though I'm not enthusiastic about him. If new DW were more like Dr Who, more science-fiction, then Tennant would make for a good Doctor, maybe very good.

Perhaps we can call her... Wait no nevermind what I was going to type... How about "Looky"? Perhaps NLT? NLT is sometimes used to shorten Netherlands. We use NL but I have seen NLT once or twice. Random fact that has nothing to do with Doctor Who, this new person, this topic or the interweb. However if we nick name this person NLT I will just think it is an entire country posting on one little forum.

Looky is fine or what about NLTL (taking in account the whole Netherlands thing!) I will try to put you not u, clocket. I do it because I tend to post on my phone. I'm in NSW. I know your name isn't time cat but it's shorter than your name plus I love your icon! Glad to know there are other Four-lovers out there! He was my first doctor (I watched DVDs), so that probably contributes, plus he's just so quirky! Does anyone else call moff "the evil genius"? Because he really is a genius but he does such good cliffhangers and that makes him evil. I'm sorry to say I have yet to see any sevens but I think i'd like him from descriptions and teaspoon stories. Thanks for the edit tip, aqua(if you insist *sigh*).

Nah, I don't think Moffat is a genius, as everyone here knows by now. Sorry. Four-love is always good, though!

I have to concur on the non-genius of The Moff being an annoying recurrence as he plods along, but he does have his moments at least... hey, it could be worse... we could still have Rusty...
I love Four, he's the Genuine Article, you might say, though Three usually gets first billing - actually, the first four Doctors are all tops for me, with the rest shuffling about in order from time to time. Ten and Six share the bottom of the pile, but even they occasionally get their moments of fannish glory.
Glad to have you, welcome indeed.
