Thanks for the link! There was a time in my life when I was very nearly as obsessed with Mulder and Scully as I generally am with Who; I think a bit of X-over fun is going to go on my lengthy list of fanfic I may never get round to writing...

oh yes! Cancerman for sure! I can just imagine what the Doctor would have to say that blighter! Those were the good old days of Sci Fi, eh? As for Firefly, I got into that late but have managed to see most of the series, as my little sis has them on DVD, thank god for equally obsessive siblings, eh? At any rate, I reckon a firefly/who crossover would be interesting, I have seen loads of Buffy/Who on teaspoon but never firefly, how odd.
and thanks for the legwork, you lot are ace!

Here you go; a long one, but a good one: www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=5928I think it's probably a good thing the Doctor didn't stumble on the X-Files - I can imagine Seven, for instance, sorting out the gang of evil old conspirators once and for all, _and_ their alien buddies, in, well, say about three or four twenty-five minute episodes. And then what would Agent Mulder do with his time? He'd be reduced to chasing Bigfoot and smalltime stuff like that...

Ah yes, I've seen that one before. Forge is a very good cross-over author (though I do wish he's finish that Buffy/DW cross-over... but then, I'm one to judge lol)
As for Seven and Cancer man, I'm dead sure I've seen a fic where they're both scheming away together in that little log cabin cancer man ended up in eventually. Marvellous stuff.

I would love to see a good Jeeves & Wooster crossover myself, (as played by Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry) - wouldn't they make just smashing companions for the Doctor? I picture Four here, maybe, or Seven. :-D

I took the liberty of placing it in your coat pocket before we left the TARDIS. I think you might find it most efficacious in resolving our present dire predicament, sir."

*waves kermit arms* Aaaah! More! More!
Gads but I'd love to have Hugh Laurie as Eleven... and Fry as his companion. Dream team.

Now can you write us some Wooster-burbling please? I thought about whether I could, and nope, it's beyond me. Actually Bertie and Ten are pretty evenly matched... their burbling is similar enough that it could trigger the Blimovich (sp?) Limitation Effect. In a round-robin story in our club newsletter, there was a scene where Mulder finds himself on an alien ship for the first time, full of Cybermen or Sontarans or something, and he starts chasing them around for an autograph.

"So, Jeeves, you're telling me that these Dalek coves do nothing apart from travelling around the universe imparting in other poor blighters' shell-likes the information that they would dearly love nothing better than to exterminate them?"
"I am led to believe, sir, that it is their primary, indeed some would say their only, activity in life. Truly, theirs must be a most empty and unfulfilling existence, sir."
"Well, it's a rum do, Jeeves, and no mistake; in fact, never in all my puff have I heard such frightful rot. Still, I can't imagine that their bark is as bad as it is cabbage-looking. I'd wager they're not as frightening as my Aunt Agatha; now there's a threat to the bally universe if ever there was one. The f of the s is deadlier than the jolly old m, as they say."
"Indeed so, sir; however, I have the distinct impression that your Aunt Agatha does not share their enthusiasm, nor, I might say, their peculiar accomplishment, in the fields of planetary genocide and wholesale species enslavement."
"Well, that's their first clanger, isn't it, Jeeves? A chap can exterminate a species, or he can jolly well enslave it; one or the other, but not both."
"I fear sir, that the enslavement may serve as an unusually drawn out, and indeed cruel, method by which the aforementioned objective of extermination may be achieved."
"Well, that's dashed nasty, Jeeves; remind me never to have anything to do with the horrible little rotters."
"As you say, sir; I have in fact already adjusted the TARDIS coordinates to ensure that we will safely avoid the Daleks' known spheres of influence and areas of activity."
"Oh, much obliged, Jeeves. And I think I'll wear the black dinner jacket tonight."
"Very good, sir."

*squeaks happily*
Post this to Teaspoon. Seriously. Please. XD You do realize you could Bertie-babble for me all day long and I'd just happily soak it all up and ask Jeeves to bring us another round and be sure to include the little paper umbrellas on the side while he's at it, there's a good chap.
Aunt Agatha vs. the Daleks. 0_o Now there's a fiery showdown!

That did me a lot of good, jjpor, thanks! I could really hear their voices in my head while reading that. You have to flesh that out and post it on Teaspoon!

I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible for JJPOR to write anything which is not consisting of amazing topped with awesome sauce.
Seriously, have you ever considered writing something with a view for publication? I know publication is crazy hard, but... the stuff you write is flipping fantastic. I'd love to read you in hard cover.

I think I'd have to second that vote. Jeeves and Wooster in the TARDIS, or something along those lines. Sounds good.

Well, the Fry & Laurie version of Jeeves and Wooster is one of those examples of 80s-early90s TV, like the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes, or indeed (the various) Blackadders, or indeed McCoy-era Who, that I remember with sort of uber-vividness from my younger days, and continue to worship, especially as most of them are readily rewatchable on cable here in the UK (apart from oldschool Who, frustratingly - used to be, but since NuWho came along the reruns channels seem only to show that). They don't call those your formative years for nothing! Personally, I can't see the series "House" without doing an incredulous double-take: "Waitaminute! That's Bertie Wooster!" I shall endeavour to knock this into slightly better shape and get it up on the 'Spoon sooner rather than later.
As regards original fic, Clocket; I have indeed got drawerfuls of the stuff, but a lot of it was written when I was about fifteen, and therefore could do with a few rewrites, or else is in a horribly unfinished state. I like to think that I can write dialogue and characters fairly well, and think of cool sort of scenes or concepts (which is often all you need for fanfic, right?), but it's things like coherent plotting and, you know, actually getting the stuff down in writing, that I find harder; I am, it is fair to say, horribly undisciplined in my approach to writing. It doesn't help that my original fic is nearly exclusively novel-length in approach (I don't really do concise!), and I just never seem to finish anything. One of my standing new years' resolutions (ie. I have the same one every year) is actually to complete some original fic and at least try to get it published, and it will be again this year, but we shall see if it actually comes to pass or not...

I was irritated through the 80s and 90s by almost everything, but looking back, that time was much better than I would have admitted, and much better than now, especially with UK television.
Has Stephen Fry's DW script been filmed yet?
That one attempt at DW fanfic of mine on Teaspoon was my first and only. I knew that it was a bad idea to take on something that long and involved, but it was the only thing I cared enough about to write about. So now, I'm left with an epic consisting of two and a half utterly confusing chapters. Maybe a part of it is that I never gravitated toward short stories much (reading/listening to them, I mean).

Has Stephen Fry's DW script been filmed yet? Last I heard, it wasn't happening; it was a fairly long and involved on-off saga, if I remember, constantly being put back, and eventually they just decided to call it quits, I think; which is a pity. Maybe it will get done eventually during the Reign of Moffat, which is some time off yet.

I read a Firefly crossover on Teaspoon that I really enjoyed. I had no prior knowledge of Firefly, but I did watch the movie "Serenity" after I read this story. I think the author captured the characters well. This story and the movie makes me want to buy the box set of the whole series. www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=30243

Don't deny that this crossover pairing would be the hottest het pairing ever. I think if this scene were ever filmed, the camera and the cameraman would burst into flames.
Jack/Inara.
For the win.
