Just popping in to say hello... I stumbled across this forum in my journeys through the internet, so I thought I'd join! I'm a big Doctor Who fan, as you'd expect, and have been since the new series started up (though I have since discovered the joys of the old series, too!). Once upon a time I would say that my favourite Doctors were #2, 4, and 10, except then #11 came along and I liked him too, and lately I've been watching a lot of #5, so... let's just say that they're all magnificent! Random facts: I am from Canada, play ukulele, and it is my goal in life to someday own a TARDIS. And with those crucial details, I shall end what is starting to become an overly long introduction post

Welcome to DbyA! Hope you enjoy your time here, and you have to join us for DWlive on Saturdays! ^^
We've got quite a diverse crowd here country-wise. I adore five, he's so flustered, and constantly being bullied by Tegan! XD You'll find that we're also quite a diverse crowd favorite-doctor-wise.

Thank you! Ooh, DWlive, this sounds exciting! Well, diverse is good! I look forward to meeting you all ;D And I agree about Five, from what I've watched so far, anyway. My classic series knowledge is a bit patchy, so I'd never really watched very much of him until a few weeks ago (I'm trying to make up for that now though ;D)

Welcome Roranicus! You have the best user name I have seen lately. I love it when I meet another folk instrument player who also likes Doctor Who. One of these days I would like to get a uke.

Well, your user name is enough to make me like you. ;D Rory fans unite! But the ukulele cinches it, because that is a random, weird and wonderful talent to have. Welcome to the boards!
As you might have guessed, I'm a bit of a Rory fan (wee, little bit). I also started watching with the beginning of the new series. Oh that magical year of the hockey strike when there was Doctor Who every weekend followed by very random movies... good times. And I bounce around with who my favourite Doctor is a lot: 9, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 6... they're just all great even if I pick on them sometimes. Heh.
But enough about me in your thread. Welcome, welcome, welcome! I hope you have a great time here. It's a fun mix of people from across fandom and around the world.

Welcome Roranicus, You have some fellow canadians already on board here. What part of Canada do you hail from?

Welcome, Roranicus! Glad that you stumbled upon us. I'm another fan who started with the new series, before moving on to the old series and now I'm fully fluent in both, which is great, but I miss having all these old episodes to dip into, so enjoy them! And, yes, definitely check out DW Live if you're able to.

Greetings, Roranicus, and welcome to the boards. ;D It's always heartening to see people getting into the old series via the new and indeed new people joining DbyA - I hope you'll enjoy your time here. As has been said, we're a pretty diverse bunch, in terms of nationality and age, I think, as well as the particular areas of Whodom that we find most appealing. I think all of your favoured Doctors are great choices (even Ten! ) - I'm something of a Seven fan myself - check him out if you get a chance. Anyway, welcome. I like to think we're a friendly, inclusive sort of bunch, so hopefully you will find it a good place to hang out and have fun.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! ;D librarylover and clocketpatch -- Glad you like the username! I do quite like Rory.. probably my favourite companion of the new series, tied with Donna. And the ukulele is a fabulous instrument! I only started playing around last Christmas, but since then my uke and I have become slightly inseparable kirkg -- Ontario! Are you Canadian as well then? IMForeman -- Yeah, it's nice to have all these "new" (to me) Doctor Who episodes to watch, especially during the breaks between seasons (or half-seasons, as with this year) when I would otherwise be having a bit of Who-withdrawal jjpor -- I definitely need to watch some Seven! For some reason he's the only Doctor I've never really watched any of. (Not sure why I've neglected him all these years, but I do plan to amend this!)

Alas, no, not Ontario resident. Spent 8 years in Detroit, and would frequently venture to Windsor prior to 9-11...
You have something in common with Clocket though... try her!

Kirk, you know that over 1/3 of Canada's population is in Ontario and half of that is crammed into one city right? We're silly like that. We certainly aren't the only country with huge portions of its population crammed into strangely bitty spaces though...

America's like that, too. It's like, there are really huge cities all around the national border, but you close inward on the nucleus of the midwest, and there are COWS. Many, many cows.
Oh, and never drive through Oklahoma. Oklahoma's rubbish. (No offence intended to Oklahomans, but your state never ends.)
ANYWAY HI. *manic wave* Allow me to help welcome you to the boards; other members have done so far more elegantly than I could ever hope to, but I thought I'd throw in my bit. xD Ukulele! That's fantastic! I used to have a couple of friends who wrote songs for ukulele and violin; they were amazing. I wish I still had some of their music.
And who doesn't want to own a TARDIS? ;D

Thanks! Ukulele and violin together? That actually sounds like a pretty amazing combination; I must try it! Except I can't play violin (though I tried once -- wasn't a very musical experience, must say) ... oh well, a minor drawback Also, quite true about the very uneven population distribution! I live in a fairly rural area (plenty of cows here too!), but it's probably like a bustling metropolis compared to some of the more out-of-the-way parts of Canada Alas, no, not Ontario resident. Spent 8 years in Detroit, and would frequently venture to Windsor prior to 9-11... Ah, gotcha! Wasn't sure if your were including yourself in the "you have some fellow canadians" or not. But all is clear now! (I hope)

We certainly aren't the only country with huge portions of its population crammed into strangely bitty spaces though... I;ve been to Vancouver three times, actually... Now THAT's a city! PS: And who doesn't want to own a TARDIS? I just bought one. PPS: I found someone with a user name "My other vehicle is a Tardis" on another website last week! Big Ten and Eleven fan!
