I've stumbbled across something that appears to be a Dr. Who short with Matt Smith and Amy and Rory. I think it was a special ten minute or so funny scene where the tardis materializes inside the tardis.. causing a keystone cops routine where they all emerge from the tardis one after another, and cause themselves to go back into it. ;D Pretty damn clever, and I want to know if it's part of continuity or when and why it was produced. This short was also notable because of some crude references to Rory looking up Amy's skirt from under the doctor's glass floor in the tardis. Is anyone familiar with this?

Yep, it's this year's Red Nose Day skit. I wasn't overly pleased with it and it's crude references to Amy's skirt and insinuating that women can't drive. There are a few of these skits about. I'm not sure where the Two Amy's one lies as far as canon goes. The 2005 skit for example is almost certainly canon: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZK8tPwA0RoAnd then there's Time Crash: www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0cyxb2kG9E

Can you explain what a "Red Nose Night" is for those of us who are either new, or who haven't run in and out of the tardis to hear ourselves explain it yet?
I see the short story is called "Space" by Steven (YAHOO!) Moffat... all the best circular time travel stories appear to be written by him. What a mind! What a concept.
I still can't get over how he surprises me each time one or two of them pop back through the front door again. I almost burst out laughing each time it happens.
Frankly, I'm not offended by the references to women drivers or Rory's driving at all. It's hard to hear and goes by so quickly. I just thought the glass floor/skirt went a bit cheap. I doubt that it would have stayed in the regular show, so just exactly what IS this ten minute clip that get's produced each year?

Not being British I'm not entirely sure of all the specifics, but from what I've picked up Red Nose Day is an annual charity event where various TV shows run silly skits while people phone in donations to various children's charities.

You mean Red Nose Day/Comic Relief. Every two years British comedians (and sometimes drama) actors/writer/etc get to gather and do a fundraiser. It started out as a way to help children in Africa with Aids but they do other charities now. They have many specials on TV and events all over Britain leading up to the day. Normal people can also fundraise for a charity of their choice. On the actual day, they have a full out fundraiser on LIVE TV and celebrities/producers/whatever help out in any way. It's famous for the comedic shorts shows tend to do to help out. What you saw with the Doctor was one of those shorts.
Pretty much the whole thing is a huge nation wide telethon that happens to be funny and awesome.
