So, I was watching the newest episode last week on the telly. The one with pirates. Arr. Anyway, my room mate is all:
"Who's the Doctor?"
Me: "The weirdo in the bowtie"
Her: "Ah" *beat* "Are the other people aliens?"
Me: "No, they're human. They're a married couple who travel with him because, well, why not?"
Her: "Okay, okay..." *beat* "I always thought that the Doctor was a hawwwt Scottish man."
Me: "Not since the eighties... oh, right. Uh, confused me for a moment. He doesn't use that accent in the show. More of a cockney..."
Her: "I do not understand anything you just said"
Me: "That's probably for the best"
;D ;D ;D

I wish they'd let Tennant use his proper accent on the show for it is Hot Chocolate Sex. Insufferable Mockney FTL.

... what does the beat mean? Still... do not hook your new roommates. Getting someone into Doctor Who is like getting someone into crack.

...it really is isn't it? Random and delicious crack.
I don't think they're in any danger though. They are nerds in name only type people. More partiers than anything. Not my usual crowd, but nice people all around.
The beat is just a pause in the conversation. An awkward lull if you will.

I love Tennant's natural accent. The mockney (love that!)/BBC English works for the delivery of certain lines, but ... too much niceness, not enough sexies! Also, I'm all for giving people the first hit of Who. "Ah-ah, only the first hit's free." xD

It sometimes works, yes, but I see the Doctor as an alien aristocrat, so it just reminded me too much of an upper-class person trying to talk like one of the ''common people'' in order to be ''cool''. ;D Also, the voice he used was so nasal and annoying at times, even though Tennant sounds nothing like that IRL.

I so wish that David Tennant could have used his real accent. Now when I go back and watch those eps, his accent kind of annoys me, now that I've heard more of his real voice.
I definitely just spent the four and a half hour car ride down to Louisville ranting about Doctor who... and most of the ride back up. I also MAY have copied the 2005 season onto an unsuspecting seventh grader's laptop, after letting him watch the first two episodes, which I was of course carrying around with me on my external hard drive... along with pretty much the entirety of new-who...
Yes... The guilt and the triumph together are so bitter sweet... I imagine it is a bit like getting someone into crack...
Oh... And I MAY have also introduced him to fanfiction... OK, now I do feel guilty...

LOLing a bit at the idea of the Doctor trying to be "cool" and "street" and stuff by talking like Jamie Oliver. Makes a lot of sense, tbh.

Thanks Clocket! I was bored and something was glitching in the link to my pervious icon, so I decided to whip up a little something to replace it with. You know, it's only just occured to me the signifigance of Romans in the latest series, lol. And then of course there's what I mentioned in my artist's comments on both the origional piece and the icon when I posted them on deviantART: Full picture:He's probably running from an angry mob, and ditching what appears to be a spartan costume, frighteningly resembling the one's from 300... Agh, leather speedos...*shudders*. Then again, doctor in leather, y/n? XD
Icon: I don't know why he was disguised as a Spartan from 300, you make something up... Oh dear, that may generate some interesting theories form some of you... Especially pertaining to the Leather Speedos from that movie... I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to hearing the comments on this or not... Torn... Decency vs curiosity... Ah well, we all know which wins on the internet.

I think the costume would probably suit Turlough better - I can just imagine Turlough getting comradely with a bunch of Spartans...
I didn't just type that out loud, did I?

You know, frankly, I can too. Did you see Kolo Sigma's video to the song ET? I'd never really been a fan of the pairing, but I can't get over how well done it is! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBNDs9MfSLA
