Star and I went to a garage sale this morning and found a lady with a little blue tub of DW memorabilia - you NEVER find that around here, and we all had a mutual squee-fest that it even existed, both of us and the older lady who was the owner, that she had people who appreciated what it was.
Most of it was older, yellowing fan-printed newsletters and bits of articles and such - we left those, but did come away with two great Doctor Who Fan Club buttons, a DW Appreciation Society membership card from the 80s, three Tom Baker greeting cards, two issues of the Doctor Who magazine from the 80s (Pertwee and Davison! - I've never actually seen one of these magazines before except in little scans people put online) AND a role playing game that has information in it running up to the early appearance of Six with a picture of Four and Leela on the box.
Starflower's spent quite a lot of time poring over it this afternoon trying to figure out how to play it and laughing at things like TARDIS weapons and features including Jelly Babies as their own item.
The dear lady with her tub had to tell us in detail more than once about her having years ago met Peter Davison and how Peter came around the table at the only Con they'd gotten to just to give her 80+ year old mother a hug. (mum, it turns out was a Three-fangirl all the way, but would take a Five-hug if that was all that could be had). It was good fun, and certainly a treasure in more ways than one.
So.... now we have some Whotrinkets - the only other thing I have is a small number of postcard photos from the Five Doctors that I got at a little con in the 80s m'self. My kids were amused when they went through my old photo albums and found Jon Pertwee in among family pics, lol... Hey, at least I'm consistent.
