Just a heads up; the Adventure Games are finally available (legally!) to us non-Ukian fans: www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102295-Doctor-Who-Games-Teleport-to-International-Audiences
I kind of discovered this accidentally last night when I decided to continue my series 5 rewatch (I'm only as far as Victory of the Daleks, lol) and then saw the commercial at the end and was all, hmmm... wasn't that supposed to be released in July?
And did the Google-fu only to discover it had been released three hours earlier. !!!
Anyway, for those of you who are interested, it's on sale right now for $3.70 for BOTH games, which I thought was pretty darn decent all considering. So I snapped that up (after doing more Google-fu to confirm that the site is safe) and have been enjoying it far too much.
It's a bit lame as far as games go - you don't actually do anything, you just sneak past Daleks and get annoyed at Amy's "helpful hints" and get shot by Daleks and brought back to the save point every two seconds... but it's amusing to me. I get a stupid glee out of the educational factoids it keeps giving about London taxi cabs and stuff, also, the random "collectible cards" I've found the Sixth Doctor and a Hath. Yay me!
The graphics are kind of laggy (the title sequence killed me. It went frame by frame and I couldn't make it STOP arghh!!) but it's generally okay, and the way they've animated both of them, combined with the lagginess, makes Eleven and Amy look drunk all the time. It makes me laugh. Anyway... I think I'm going to be addicted to this for awhile now.
Three dollars well spent!
