I would like to publicly claim responsibility for starting this discussion on Dalek eating. You don't want to take some time to think about that first?

Actually, I thought a bit of light tempura and lemon slices in caper sauce would go nicely, served with a side of pilaf and some cold white wine. Sounding good yet?
Makes me wonder if it would be a usable plot-bunny to have a Time Lord who decided to not only explore the universe but eat it as he went. Sort of an ongoing Gallifreyan Cooking Show. *threads cybermats on skewers with vegetables and fires up the grill*

That sounds quite good Prim.
Actually, just wondering, does fried Dalek taste anything like calamari? Because that's how I'm imaging it. Nice and crispy breaded and deep-fried calamari swimming in some sweet lemon-y sort of sauce with plenty of parsley and garlic.
Mmmm.

I imagine Dalek probably tastes like a burnt tyre dipped in motor oil...they really are unpleasant in every possible way (or so I like to think?). Of course, that begs the question of what Daleks themselves eat... I imagine their travel machines intravenously feed them with something or other. Probably something or other made from liquidised Daleks who have reached the end of their designed-in lives... Urgh...

See, every once in a while one of these threads from before my time surfaces again, and I am slightly traumatized by it...
I tried a bit of tentacle that was part of someone's packed sushi lunch once and was really disgusted by it. I imagine Dalek would be differently flavored, but the texture would probably be the same...
I do love kitkats though... Probably my favorite candy bar ever!

I've eaten baby octopi on toothpicks out of a can... though I had to be coerced into it by my dad, so I don't know if that qualifies as voluntary consumption of anything with tentacles. Still... my childish recollection was it tasted salty and was like eating a piece of rubber chicken.
I expect Daleks would take quite a lot of beating with a tenderizer and marinating besides, they'd be even tougher.

If that is the case, I think they would be great on the BBQ. A nice thick sauce .... yum.

I was thinking of something like buffalo wings, but then I had to wonder if Daleks even have bones? I guess it would make it a little easier if you didn't have to worry about filleting them.

I have this feeling that they have ribs, and probably some kind of skull, based upon some of the shots of Dalek Cann, or whatever his name was... But definitely none in their limbs.

Okay, that picture just totally made my morning. My son goes by various monikers online that have "dalek" in them, and he wants to be a plumber. This is Win for our household. X-D

I don't think I realised before - did this thread inspire this most excellent fic? www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=30178Remember that Daleks are mutants, and there have been various "strains" over the years since Davros took to reinventing them every time he makes an appearance (hence the Imperials' and renegades' mutual race-hatred in Remembrance). So you know, bones, texture etc could well vary depending on what type of Dalek it is you're chowing down on... Well, even Daleks have the right to make a bit of money through honest toil, I'd say. ;D

You will one of these days, though...one of these days... (Seriously, read it though - it's by our very own Magnus and it's extremely amusing).

I shall read it before bed tonight!
I almost bought a big kit kat bar at a truck stop the other day on the way back from Chicago, but then I never actually did. I imagine eating it on the buss would have led to me telling some very odd stories about Daleks...
