*Oh, I agree with you on that. Half-serious criticisms of the chosen plot resolution aside, I think one of the things they did well in this story was having the Doctor in it, and putting him centre-stage in the second episode, without him totally overwhelming the other characters. And as you say, it was SJA, not Doctor Who, so it was only proper that it should be the SJA characters who were central to the story and ended up resolving the situation.*
