Lalla actually said she thought she looked like ''hell on wheels'' in CftP.

Well, I think she shouldn't be so hard on herself, but then again it's all in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? ;D

Miscellania:
That had better be a typo, or I feel very sorry for her! On an unrelated note, she seems to be signaling a left turn with her hair.
Doesn't ''hell on wheels'' mean you're a biker? Or maybe she just really likes Paul McCartney's "Helen Wheels". I am nothing if not anachronistic. Good song though.
I may have just seen Geoffrey Bayldon in a year two Space:1999.
Thanks for the LBJ lobes!

Miscellania: That had better be a typo, or I feel very sorry for her! Oh, she got off lightly - spare a thought for her younger sister Cockroach Brooks. Here, have something that's almost on-topic; you've probably seen this before but it is nonetheless amusing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4bgOroUhWI

I think I've seen this scene incorporated into a fic somewhere, but didn't know it was 'real'!
Hadn't seen it - *g* That was completely over the top adorable - K-9 is priceless and Mary Tamm is such a "purty wooman" (as John Wayne might have noted... romantic dialogue was never his specialty).

Jjpor-- Thanks but YouTube is beyond my primitive reconditioned computing mechanism.

I hadn't seen that before and it is charming. Thanks for sharing.
For Magnus' benefit: it's a clip of Tom giving K-9 some Jack Daniels followed by K-9 "singing" We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Tom asks K-9 what he wants for Christmas.
K-9: Unlimited ball bearings and smoother terrain on the planets we land on. what do you want master?
Tom: *looks over at Mary Tamm* *smiles*

I can easily replay that in my memory, as I've seen that clip often, and have it stuck onto the end of a VHS tape or two someplace. Was it really Jack Daniels?! Had my fan collective known of this, they would surely have squeed. Jack Daniels was the official excecutive producer of all of our video parodies! Just check the closing credits! And our liver biopsies!

That clip is made of squee and totally proves that the BBC shipped them. ;D

And Tom Baker, apparently too... ;D
No problem, Magnus - thanks to Clocket and her excellent recapping skills!
John Leeson seems like a pretty funny guy - apparently him and Tom Baker used to goof around like this all the time, with Tom asking him crossword clues and stuff and him replying as K-9. Of course, he never knew the answer when it was @#!&ing important... ;D

I need to listen to the Baker-Tamm-Leeson commentary on the Key to Time DVDs. Apparently, it's full of dirty jokes, non-sequitors and Doctor/Romana shipping. ;D

I was just Googling images of Romana II for the picspam I posted on the other thread, when I came across this startling image: Crikey! (No, it's not from the AU version of State of Decay where Four goofed off even more than usual and everything went horribly pear-shaped. It's from the Hammer horror film "Vampire Circus" which may or may not have been Lalla Ward's first onscreen appearance. But...crikey! I think I'm going to have nightmares)

I... I... I think I need to run away now. MEEP! Time lapse edit. This is my 3000th post! I didn't even realize I was getting close! Then Newton pointed it out. It's a bit, not very dignified, for such a post. Oh well. Meep!

I thought it looked a bit like she'd been gargling cherry jello... Very bizarre!

I suppose the obvious joke is something like "heh, her teeth looked scarier than that when she was playing Romana", or something. But obviously, I'd never say anything mean like that...

Was just browsing through old threads when I realized I hadn't posted in the Official Romana Thread. This is undoubtedly a huge oversight on my part. To contribute, I've always thought that Alexandra Moen, a.k.a. Lucy Saxon bears a certain resemblance to Lalla Ward. Observe: She even has the Teeth, y/n? I may or may not have freaked out once for about two seconds when browsing the Sound of Drums gallery online and mistaking Lucy Saxon for Romana. Er, to put it into context, this was right after Utopia aired and most of us were still recovering. Clearly, the thing to do is to send her and Jon Culshaw to Paris to film a remake of City of Death. (Dear BBC, if you are reading this, please do not listen to me.)

I dunno...the Teeth are pretty unique really...
But yes, I do see the resemblance - and it isn't as if Romana hasn't regenerated to look exactly like another Who character before...

I um... wha'...? My first thought was it had to have started out as a dare (dare you to wear that weird bird sweater an adoring but misguided fan foisted on you!)... Wild. Do you think she really knits, or does she just like wearing clothing with rather poorly done fowl on it?
